For headteachers and senior leaders. Join Andrew Pilmore for an in-depth exploration of the new-look IDSR and what it means for school leaders. The IDSR has changed considerably, both in its presentation and in the information available to schools and inspectors.
• A particular focus will be the Similar Schools model. We will look in detail at how this works, what the comparisons do – and do not – tell you, and how leaders can use this information intelligently alongside their wider knowledge of the school.
• During the session you will:
- explore what has changed in the IDSR and develop a clear understanding of the latest format, measures and information available;
- consider how Ofsted may use the IDSR before an inspection – identifying what the information highlights and the areas inspectors may want to explore further;
- look in detail at the Similar Schools model – understanding how schools are compared, how to interpret the information and the questions it may prompt;
- think about what information you may want to share with governors to help them understand the key messages within the IDSR and preparing them for the types of questions they may encounter during inspection.
